I woke up late, had brunch, and then decided to go over to the other
guys apartment to finally make a phone call. So it actually worked for a change, and I talked to my mom for a while, so she liked that a lot, and I did too.
Then me and Dare finally decided it was time to do a giant load of laundry, and a giant load of laundry we did. So now, I've got clean clothes to look forward too, oh yeah.
Then I had to go on a long and somewhat laborious journey in search of a right-handed goalie stick (lefties use a righty stick in the nets, for the record). In my first few futile attempts at
finding one, I have concluded that aside from Roberto Luongo, Vancouver hates goalies. Period. Plain and simple. This city is essentially a wasteland in goaltender's merchandise. So with that in mind, I went all the way to the end of Broadway (kind of like Spring Garden Road) to look for a certain sports store which looked promising. I got there and much like every other store around, was a wasteland void of anything goaltender related. So I then decided to trek back towards the apartment when I stumbled upon "sports junkies" a used sports equipment store. That's where the miracle child resides. It was simply stunning. Not one, not two, but A WHOLE RACK OF RIGHT HANDED GOALIE STICKS. After ensuring this was not some kind of cruel and optimistic figment of my imagination, I picked up the stick in the flesh, and purchased it. I also got a pair of cleats for next summer, since they were pretty cheap. So now I'm halfway through my little equipment excursion, I just need a goalie sized hockey bag now.
So then I returned to the apartment, talked to my dad and sister on the phone, ate some dinner, and reveled in the aura protruding from that blissful behemoth of a stick. I am still in that state. It is good. Arrivederci.
P.S. This is what the cleats look like:

Praise the Lord...a new goalie stick! Yipee. And a new helmet before you left...I wouldn't recognize you between the pipes! Only kidding...I'd know that unique style in a heartbeat.Do a stretchin' glove save for me...will ya!
Sorry...I forgot. Send a pic of the stick and I guess we know your fav store in Vancouver now!
What a great entry! Could you add me to your email list, please? I'm so glad you found some sticks. I think I can sense the aura from here. ;-)
